2014 Atlanta Snowpocalypse

The state’s transportation chief says he is “not happy” with how “things have happened” that left motorists throughout Metro Atlanta stranded bu the tens of thousands. With surface streets and major thoroughfares impassable, motorists abandoned vehicles causing even more traffic problems.

The mayor of Atlanta is urging Atlantans to stay at home if at all possible as the city was brought to its keens following two inches of snowfall. Atlanta was pounded by two inches of snow on Tuesday, and the economic engine of the Southeast is expected to remain closed today and possibly tomorrow as officials grapple with how to clear highways return the city to normalcy.

The Atlanta area and the state of Georgia are a laughing stock of the nation after nearly every road in the region turned into one massive traffic jam that has lasted more than 12 hours. Elected and nonelected officials should be embarrassed. Leaders tout this city as an economic player…
