First-ever Georgia Restaurant Week set for July 13-19

ATLANTA — A number of Georgia restaurants are coming together next month for the first-ever Georgia Restaurant Week.

The week-long event is sponsored by the Georgia Restaurant Association (GRA) and the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD). As part of the week, restaurants will be offering special menus.

“Restaurants play a key role for driving tourism and Georgia’s restaurants exhibit some of the best dining establishments that you can find in the country,” GRA Executive Director Karen Bremer said in a news release. “Through the GRA’s partnership with GDEcD, Georgia Restaurant Week will inspire diners to experience the exceptional dining that is available throughout Georgia and will showcase Georgia’s thriving culinary scene to visitors near and far.”

As of now, restaurants joining in the week are located in and around the Metro Atlanta area. Participating restaurants include Der Biergarten in Atlanta, Kevin Rathbun Steak in Atlanta and Ray’s at Killer Creek in Alpharetta.

Meanwhile, foodies will also want to take note of several other restaurant weeks in the Atlanta area. Downtown Restaurant Week is set for July 18-26, Midtown Restaurant Week is scheduled for Sept. 5-13, Gwinnett Restaurant Week is scheduled for July 19-23 and Cobb Restaurant Week is scheduled for Sept. 19-26.
